The All Blacks win THE RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP

Winning the Rugby World Cup in 2011 was an achievement that many great All Black sides before could not manage, yet the big goal for the team this year was not to use the tag of World Champions without the appropriate respect, while making sure they lived up to the tag.
Of course the theory of World Cup hangovers is one mused over by all and sundry, but so far the All Blacks have made a complete mockery of the fact that recent World Champions, namely England in 2003 and South Africa in 2007, have had seasons they would rather forget following on from their global success.

New Zealand are unbeaten in eight tests this year, and delivered a performance that had the All Blacks wearing looks of satisfaction that haven't really been in place all of The Investec Rugby Championship, with the side as always their own harshest critics.

McCaw, a firm believer in adding a bit of style to the winning substance, said that the team wanted to live up to their tag, and play as a World Championship team.

"The goal is to put last year behind us but we've got the tag of world champions and we want to play like that," McCaw said.

To secure the Rugby Championship this year was a big goal and it's nice to be able to do that but I think a better performance is what the guys are pretty happy with. McCaw said

It wasn't the final margin, but rather the manner in which everything fell into place for the team which made the skipper, who registered his 99th test win, happy.

"Rather than scoreboard-wise, it was the manner in which we did it was satisfying." McCaw said

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen, who said his team had plenty of improvememt required coming into this match despite going unbeaten so far in 2012, said that the key to the performance was making sure that their training performances translated onto the test arena.

"We trained all week to do things with purpose, accuracy and execution and by a large we succeeded in doing that"," Hansen said.

Registering the four try bonus point at halftime effectively wrapped up The Investec Rugby Championship for the All Blacks, following on from the Springboks 31-8 victory, meaning that the championships first two 'offensive' bonus points have been awarded.
